I have a kitten! He's all white and his name is Mandolin (which is an instrument), and he is now about eight weeks old. I think he's scared of Godzilla, but she's a sweet thing, so maybe it's just because she's bigger than he is. Mum got me a book on taking care of kittens so I don't do anything wrong. Stephen got him for me last week.
I think I've gotten privacy charms down finally, too. I've been practicing a lot, so learning stuff has gotten a little better. They are still working on breaking the memory charm on me, but I think I have gotten to a point where it doesn't matter so much to me. I think it matters less to Mum too, which is good. |

New things tried recently: Cake, raspberry vanilla ice cream, taffy, making a feather float, lighting my wand, and privacy charms. I think I like all of them but the privacy charm. That's still too much for me apparently. I do really like the cake and ice cream though. I've had a few kinds of ice cream, and I liked all of them. Mum says this isn't a surprise. |

I don't know if I've ever made New Year's resolutions before, but they sound like a good idea. It's a week late, but I made some up anyway. One is to write more in this journal because I'm supposed to be doing it anyway, and it's not like I have so much other stuff to be doing that I don't have time. I just forget.
Mum and Lizzy say I'm doing well with relearning magic, but it's slow and frustrating. I thought maybe I would remember something if it was a habit, like with other things, but apparently not. I'm really grateful for the help and patience, but I think I frustrate them the most with my own frustration.

New Year's was fun. It's the first one I remember, although Chaz told me I probably wouldn't remember the last few years even if I hadn't lost my memory. Hopefully I will get some of them back after I go back to St. Mungo's to see a Healer in the Spell Damage ward. |

As of yesterday, I'm officially home from the hospital. I want to thank everyone for the gifts and visits. It means a lot of me and my family. Now we are just having a quiet Christmas tomorrow that I am looking forward to, being out of the hospital and eating real food. I still don't remember what I do and don't like, but I'm ready to try everything.
Next week I am going to start relearning spells. Apparently I never read my textbooks for school, but I guess I need to now. Strangely, I'm not put off by that at all.

Something is wrong with my kidneys. They were working before and now they aren't. Apparently damage done by dark magic can't be reversed unless it heals by itself, so I might need a new one or two. Looks like I'm not leaving today like we thought. |

I woke up with a headache this morning. The Healers don't like it. They said it could mean something else is wrong since it won't go away. They were saying I could leave tomorrow, but I can't until everything is fixed.
I had chocolate today. It's my favourite now. I also made Irene smile today and that made me feel good. She hasn't done that very much. I still can't remember anything |
